On Saturday the club hosted the South West District Mixed Pairs Competition. The competition is run state-wide and consists of 2 sets of 5 ends, with an extra end to be played to get a result should there be a tie. The winners from the day go on to play off at zone level and from there to the State playoff at Tuncurry later in the year. The winners of Section 1 were Kate and John Cooper of Young Bowling Club and the winners of Section 2 were Damien Miller and Margaret Parker, also from young Bowling Club. They played off in the final and it was a win for John and Kate after Kate played the ‘Bowl of the Tournament’. Three shots down, she drove the kate into the ditch to sit alongside of it to win the match.
Mufti Bowls – Sunday: Danny Vincent, David Walker and Warwick Prosser defeated Tony Fisher, Tony Zervos and Neil Turner with a score of 18 to 8. Tony, Tony and Neil won the chooks.
Rod James and Derek Heywood defeated Shane McKellar and Craig Cooper with a score of 17 to 6.
Shane McKellar and Derek Heywood defeated John Peterson and Warwick Prosser with a score of 19 to 10.
Rod James and Cary Peters defeated Doug Hawkins and Tony Zervos 18 to 17.
