A Fitzroy Street, Tumut business was broken into twice in the space of five months, with the intruders wreaking havoc on equipment inside.
The first reported break-in occurred on September 12 last year, before the premises were targeted again on January 9.
While cash was taken both times, the damage bill was high, according to police.
“Although the quantity of cash taken was small, a large amount of damage was occasioned to the vending machines in the premises,” police said.
Tumut police officers executed a search warrant on a Quandong Street address on Wednesday, resulting in the seizure of a range of items and an unspecified amount of cannabis.
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the house and later charged with break, enter and steal, six counts of larceny and possessing a prohibited drug.
The seized goods will be subject to further forensic tests and the man is due to face Tumut Local Court on February 13.
