Saturday morning saw the location being visited by Member for Cootamundra, Katrina Hodgkinson, and Hilltops Council Administrator, Wendy Tuckerman.
“I did not realise how impressive the sculpture was until I stood next to it.” Ms Tuckerman said. “It certainly has the potential to be an incredible tourist attraction in Harden Murrumburrah”.
Ms Hodgkinson was equally impressed.
“I can’t believe all the attention to detail in this statue – it is just amazing,” Ms Hodgkinson said. ”It needs to be on display to the public, and it needs to stay in Murrumburrah”.
Mr Valerius said he is receiving lots of interest regarding his sculpture, some from as far away as Mackay.
“I just hope we can raise enough money to cast ‘Bill’ in bronze, so he will get the recognition he deserves,” Mr Valerius said.
