Lui reportedly suffered massive stroke symptoms, collapsing on the football field while playing for his beloved Gundagai Tigers last Sunday.
He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital, where he has been in an induced coma since, with his family by his side.
Lui will be remembered as a talented sportsperson, a great mate and a beloved son and brother.
He was a popular student at Murrumburrah High School, where today students are in mourning.
Counselling will be offered to students.
On the Gundagai Tigers RLFC Facebook page, his family asked the following be stated:
Lui loved his footy.
Lui loved the Tigers.
Lui loved his mates and his team mates.
Lui gave his best every time he played.
Thoughts are with his parents Jenny and Gino and brother Joey at this heartbreaking time.
May he rest in peace.
