The final will be played at Wagga’s premier cricketing facility Robertson Oval.
Wagga have named an unchanged side that defeated Cootamundra three weeks ago. The only exception is, they have added quick Tom Doig to their side, while Yass has gone for a good blend of youth and experience.
After defeating Cootamundra in the final last year, Wagga now has, the chance to go back got back for the first time since, 1991-92 and 1992-93.
Meanwhile, Yass is eying off an eight title, which would be a great effort considering they have only being in the Stribley Shield competition for 20 seasons.
Wagga won all three preliminary rounds and are minor premiers while Yass’s only defeat was against Wagga in the opening round.
The Wagga team is Matthew Tom [Capt.],Will Morley, Will Gardner, Jon Nicoll, Michael Whiting, Gage Baxter ,Adam Newcombe, Sean Gaynor, Nathan Smith, Safin Shohani, Lachlan Kendall and Tom Doig.
The Yass team is David Field [Capt.] Daniel Poidevin, Nick Pollock, Craig Irwin, Adam Forth, Tim Hazell Andrew Swaffield, Matt Lawrence, Martin Brown, Beau Walker, Bill Bolger, and Brent Poidevin.
Umpires. Tony Hackett [Wagga] and Stephen Poidevin [Yass]. The 50 over a side match commences at 1030am.
Stephen Poidevin will be officiating in his ninth and his fifth consecutive Stribley Shield final. In a rarity for a Stribley Shield decider, Stephens’s son Brent has been selected in the Yass side. Tony Hackett will be standing in his fourth Stribley Shield final.
