The pair committed the serious indictable offence after an altercation between young children escalated into a melee resulting in the charges.
Police allege that the two kicked in the door of the victim and then assaulted her.
The man was bail refused and spent the night in the Wagga cells; whilst the female was given condition bail and is due to appear before the Cootamundra Local Court on the 3rd August.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
Detective Inspector Paul Huxtable, Crime Manager of the Cootamundra Local Area Command said that, “young children look to adults to learn how to manage and solve problems, and so responding to minor issues with extreme violence sets a poor example,”
