Last Saturday the Harden Boorowa Junior Rugby League Club travelled to Cootamundra and enjoyed some much warranted success.

The Boorowa / Harden Twin Town Times U/6’s: The boys had a huge win over the Bulldogs winning 32-8 with Jayden Steele, Angus Oldfield and Declan Kerrison all showing great promise in both attack and defence, scoring tries and making plenty of tackles.
Justin Woodhead, Daniel Minehan and Archie Quinn all had solid games while Lewis Shea and Lachlan Rigg gained plenty of metres for their team with some great runs.
The team was grateful to Luke Oldfield for filling in for the week.
The Boorowa / Harden Ceeney’s U/7’s: These boys also had a good game winning 12-28. The try scorers for this week where Jonah Allen, Will Rigg and Declan Kerrison.
Jonah and Declan had some genuine lengthy runs down field, while Will broke though for a sneaky try in the corner.
Thomas Woodhead and Jayden Steele were excellent in attack and defence whilst Sam McGuigan and Jacob Gledhill showed huge improvement in this game.
Daniel Minehan and Alecks Cummins had a lot of great runs and provided excellent defence. Robert Woodhead for filled in for the week.
The Boorowa / Harden Delta U/9’s: Right from the warm up, there was very much a steely look in the boys eyes and with only a few games to go in the season, the team were keen to post a win.
The lads got off to a slow start with Cootamundra scoring in the first few minutes, however as the game went on the boys were gaining more and more confidence.
Ty Lietner became a human wrecking ball gaining precious metres in the process, whilst John Drew showed plenty of pace to out-sprint the opposition on a number of occasions which resulted in him scoring a great try in the corner.
George Daly was at his reliable best in defence and became a constant threat in attack, scoring a smart try while Oliver Minehan crossed the line a couple of times on his return.
Brody Schofield was not feeling very well throughout the match, but dug deep to pull off a couple of great try saving tackles,
At dummy half Oscar Phillis gave great service doing the hard things and Angus Woodhead tried hard all game with plenty of help in defense and made some good runs.
Hunter Bowman and Kurtis Schoppemahad made some tough carries and weren’t afraid to get down and dirty in defence while Charlie Fogg also made some terrific metreage.
The Steele twins also had a good day with Brody using his palm to good effect and Tristan seen cutting his opponents off at the legs on a number of occasions.
Overall it was a great team effort getting their first win for the year with Tristan Steele surprisingly kicking the winning goal to give the boys the chocolates 18-16 in a close game.
Boorowa/Harden Court House Hotel, Caltex and Landmark U/11’s: Unfortunately the team went down against the mighty Cootamundra Bulldogs last Saturday 12-0.
The game was a wonderful spectacle with both sides exercising great defence throughout the entire match.
Harrison, Cooper, Beau, Patrick and Josh Flick were all outstanding on the day whilst Sam Shea took the boys forward all game with some barnstorming charges.
The Boorowa / Harden U15s: Starting with only 11 players the BushHawks were again under strength but still put up a valiant effort against premiership favourites Cootamundra, going down 58-12.
All the boys tried their hearts out once again but the lack of numbers proved an obstacle they couldn’t overcome.
After trailing by 40 points at the break which brought about some soul-searching, and pointed advice from the coach, the troops rallied in the second half, hitting the scoreboard on a number of occasions.
Luigi Pollimeni, was quite simply the best player on the field. The resident full back promoted himself to the forwards with great results and Lachlan Innes and Clay Bonnicci put in their best games of the year.
Gus Shea managed to barge over for a four pointer while Tyson Ings made some great charges through the rucks and Brady Halls applied himself all day.
Harden Light Horse and Boorowa Court House Hotel 16's girl’s league tag: On Saturday afternoon they took on a second placed Cootamundra side in what was a must win game to have any hope of making the finals.
The pressure seemed to bring out the best in Beth as she steamed away to score the opening points after an impressive set.
Shortly after Genevieve scooped up a loose ball and motored 30 metres to score a great four pointer out wide, however Cootamundra showcased their ability by scoring from a line break out of their half.
The Harden-Boorowa girls showed great composure and maturity throughout the day and two of the youngest members of the team in Marlie and Mackella combined to score a try on the left sideline to have the visitors leading 12-4 at half time.
With the job only half done, Anna found her way over the try line shortly after the break and with the score reading 16-4 the girls continued their relentless defence to ensure that Cootamundra didn't score again.
Later in the half, Amanda showed her pace to score a brilliant 70 metre try with Tracey making the conversion and to see the full time score at 22-4 by the final siren.
The win means that the Harden-Boorowa girls are only one win away from making a finals appearance which is exciting becwe can because they have proved that they can match it with the top teams.
The girls play their next game in Young on the 8th of August.
