With the game being transferred to Goulburn, due to the snow affected Crookwell Memorial Oval, the Hawkettes made the early running, scoring the first try of the afternoon.
From there, they remained good enough to hold the highly competitive Crookwell outfit at bay until the final siren.
Hawkettes co-coach Jason Pollard, paid tribute to the girls in the team.
“They are a committed bunch of girls and it helped get us across the line I reckon. Some of them are at uni in Albury and Wagga and they make the trip each week, so we’ve got a really good group.”
Georgia Smith and Jess Doolan were instrumental throughout the match, whilst Georgia Murray kicked an important goal in the win.
This coming Saturday, the Hawkettes take on the ADFA Knights at 2pm at McLean Oval before the Harden Hawks match at 3pm.
That night the club will celebrate their major fundraiser Mock Ball at the Harden Mechanics Institute Hall in Neill Street.
