If anything in the garden survives these frosts they must be very hardy. There is not much global warming here this winter. I just poked my nose out the door and it is bitterly cold.
Enormous amounts of electricity are being used to keep warm and more and more locals are suffering with really bad colds.
Did anyone feel they had more time when the extra second was added to clocks and watches? Does anyone notice the days are getting longer?
Congratulations to the Binalong pennant players who were declared this year's winners of the small clubs pennant comp at the final round at Clover Leigh on Sunday.
I admire the players for maintaining their interest in the pennants when they had such early morning starts and distances to travel.
The program says next Saturday Clancy Grigg will donate trophies for a two-person Ambrose over 12 holes.
A draw will be done for partners. On Sunday, the ladies will play a stroke round for Monica Field's trophy, while the men will play a stroke round for the trophy donated by Kevin Spencer.
No school news either as the children are on holidays. I wonder if they are enjoying the time off when it is so cold.
Remember the annual meeting of the local Red Cross branch will be in the hotel lounge on Thursday, July 16 at 4pm. Please note this meeting is on at a different time. Afternoon tea is between 3pm and 3.30pm.
Plans are underway for the benefit day at the golf club on July 27. Golf and bowls are on the agenda along with raffles, an auction and hopefully different stalls. Item donations for the auction are being sought and may be left at the club or with Mick at the butchers shop.
Apparently many people agreed recently to have solar panels installed.
Repayment terms and conditions were not available in writing. I noticed some of the panels were already up so that bit of information was right, but just when and how are they to be paid?
