It was a big day for the small village with all three games at home and the stage was set for the seniors after the leaguetag girls and under 18s won their earlier games.
There was understandably some nervous excitement as the senior side ran onto the pitch for their 3pm kickoff, looking to make it three from three for the locals.
The lack of preseason matches showed as the men looked somewhat rusty, and lack of communication led to unnecessary turn overs and penalties.
After just eight minutes the visiting Boomers took the lead and converted.
The rest of the first half was a close-fought ordeal but the Brahmans managed two tries within the last six minutes to go into the break ahead 8-6.
From there it proved to be a matter of fitness, and perhaps a deeper bench as Trundle had just two reserves ready to take off some of the pressure.
In the end the Brahmans ran away with the game scoring five unanswered tries, four of which came in the final 20 minutes, to claim a ruthless 38-6 victory.
Ben Potts was man of the match whilst Reuben Olah and Scott Naughton also impressed.
Earlier in the day the leaguetag Jersey Girls kicked off proceedings at 12.40pm.
They started strong and had no serious issues dismantling Trundle for a 42-12 win, though both teams played well considering it was the first ever leaguetag game for each side.
Bron Pollack, Jess Howard and Lisa Naughton were Binalong’s star performers.
The under 18s followed on at 1.30pm against the Grenfell Goannas as Trundle are unable to field a youth league side this season.
Binalong’s first ever youth league side looked in doubt until recently and the lack of preparation led to a similarly slow start, with the boys going into the half-time break behind.
They showed a lot of determination to come back hard in the second half though and eventually grind out a 24-14 win over the Goannas.
Harry Morris and captain Dylan Arabin both stood for the home side.
