It’s history in the making for the small town, who this season will field their first junior side.
Local juniors once previously combined with Harden to form the under 18s Southwest Brahmans in 2008, but this is the club’s first stand-alone junior league side.
The team looked in doubt for a few weeks but thankfully both Harden and Yass have released their under 18s to Binalong.
Last year the Brahmans also fielded their first ever women’s side, the Jersey Girls.
Though they now play in different competitions, this season the girls will still have something in common with the Harden Hawkettes as they also transition from touch football to leaguetag.
Club president Michael Brayshaw said the town is excited to have all three games played at home this Saturday, with leagutage at 12.40pm, juniors 1.30pm and seniors 3pm.
“We were slow out the block with training but we have had the majority of our players together for the last fortnight and the teams are feeling good,” he said.
The seniors and the leaguetag host Trundle Boomers whilst the juniors take on Grenfell Goannas.
