Seasoned actor of stage and screen Anna Houston ran group devising and monologue workshops for three classes at Murrumburrah High School.
The workshops are primarily designed to assist those studying HSC drama, although students as young as Year Nine took advantage of the opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s best.
Drama teacher Tahnae Luke said she contacted Belvoir in order to give her students a cultural opportunity not normally available to regional and rural students.
Belvoir education coordinator Simone Evans explained the theatre company has made visiting regional schools at subsidised rates a priority since 2007.
“The students were fantastic, they were really great,” Simone said.
