Harden Hornets bowler Todd Elliott delivered some taunting balls to the Bowning Buffoloes however the local boys were unable to beat Bowning.
The Bowning Buffaloes won the last game of the season ahead of the finals in the Yass District Cricket Association's A grade competition.
Bowning run out comfortable winners after Harden scored six for 117.
The Buffaloes powered through to victory, batting last and passing Harden's score without losing a wicket.
Harden showed heart and had every hope of defeating the Buffaloes, just one position ahead of them on the competition ladder.
Judging by the competition in previous rounds it was anyone’s game. The latest stoush saw Harden defeating Bowning in January. It was a close game as Harden clinched victory with two batsman up their sleeves at 8/169. Bowning defeated Harden at their home ground in November.
Home soil victories are a common thread with all three Harden versus Bowning results going to the team that played at home.
The local men entered the match after winning just four games of 14 in a 15 game series, in comparison to the Bowning men who had won seven of 14.
The Harden Hornets can now rest up after training for and playing in a four month-long season starting in late October, 2014.
The weekend’s game meant that Bowning ended the season in a more favourable position tipping their success rate from 50 per cent to an above average figure.
While the season is over for Harden cricketers local spectators are welcome to watch the semi finals, taking place at the Harden cricket oval on Saturday from 12.30pm.
Finals will draw to a close when the decider is played at Victoria Park on March 14.
From now on it is game on for the Royal Pirates, Yass Soldiers Club Snipers, Yass Golf Club Piranhas and Bowning Buffaloes.
All four teams are fairly evenly matched with Royal Pirates winning 10 games, Yass Soldiers Club Snipers and Yass Golf Club Piranhas winning 9 so far.
Saturday will be a mostly sunny scorcher reaching 35 degrees according to weather forecast so the game is set to go ahead. Be sure to slip slop and slap if you decide to watch the semi final at Harden.
