"I think we will go all right as long as we get fit and get too training.early," he said at a training session earlier this week.
For Quinn, this is a return to the fold as he has coached the Hawks previously on two occasions.
The Hawks will have two players from Canberra joining them this season.
Good news also in that both the Schofield brothers, Nathan and Matthew, will once again be playing for the Hawks.
On the downside, one of the Hawks' key players from last year, Abed Atallah, is not returning this season.
This year's George Tooke Shield will look considerably different from last year.
The Binalong Brahmans, who were undefeated in the last two seasons in the George Tooke Shield, and the Yass Magpies will be playing in different competitions this year.
The Binalong Brahmans will be competing in the Woodbridge Cup, where they will be competing against teams such as Peak Hill, Trundle and Condobolin Rams.
The Yass Magpies will be playing in a Canberra-based competition.
Two teams from Canberra, one from Gungahlin and one Defence Force team will playing in the shield this season.
The Hawks came second in the competition last year, going down to Binalong 34/4 in the grand final after tight games earlier in the season.
With Binalong now out of the competition could be looking forward to a better result this year.
Given the changes in the teams competing in the George Tooke Shield the draw for this has yet to be completed.
The Hawks first trial match for the season will be against Grenfell on March 28 at Roberts Park.
