There will be up to 30 towns represented in the Zone 6 judging, which is the largest zone in the state, and two to three girls will be selected from there to go the state judging at the Sydney Royal Easter Show
Georgie said this week that she was really excited by this weekend's opportunity as she has been involved in Miss Showgirl competitions since she was about 10 years of age having competed in the Little Miss and Teen showgirl competitions.
"I'm really excited as this is something I've participated in for a long time," she said.
"You can't be too confident but I feel really well prepared and I'll just see what happens."
Georgie said the Miss Showgirl competition was not just a beauty pageant and encouraged other girls to enter competitions around the region.
Judging at the Zone 6 finals would comprise three sections. The first involved an interview with three-member judging panel, followed by a luncheon where the finalists are assessed on how well they interact with the other girls. The final stage is a formal dinner at night where the girls are assessed on how they conduct themselves. The dinner also involves an on-stage interview.
Georgie said the contestants were judged on their presentation, personality, their goals and ambitions, their rural knowledge and their general knowledge.
She said she liked to stress these points so she could encourage other girls to enter the competition.
Georgie will be accompanied by a team of 15 supporters from Harden for the judging.
Also doing well for the region in Miss Showgirl competitions is Cootamundra’s Chloe Waters, who competed in the Zone 7 Final in Finley on Saturday.
There were 17 girls taking part in the final, vying for two positions at the Sydney Royal.
Cootamundra Show Society’s Heather Bush said Chloe represented the Show Society and the district well.
She said the showgirls from across the district were of a very high standard.
The the two people chosen to represent Zone 7 (which includes Cootamundra) were Rose Booth from Hay and April Barber from West Wyalong.
Rose is the niece of David and Mary Booth of Cootamundra.
Chloe will perform official duties as Cootamundra Showgirl for the rest of this year and will be a vital part of this year’s Cootamundra Show.
A jack-of-all-trades not afraid to get her hands dirty, Chloe will represent Group 9 and Cootamundra in the Cattle Paraders State Final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Judging for the statewide event takes place at a local level throughout the year at each of the participating local Show Societies.
Judging for the Zone Finals occurs through February and March, with the State Final during the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The State Final Presentation will be held on Sunday, March 29.
