The Rural Fire Service South West Slopes Zone will conduct the training at the Harden racecourse on Sunday, March 29.
Up to 50 brigades and 200 personnel from the zone, which encompasses Boorowa, Cootamundra, Harden and Young shires, are expected to be involved.
The aim of the exercise is to enhance the skills, knowledge and operations of volunteers and staff to undertake their RFS roles throughout the year.
"Locals should be aware there will be smoke in and around the race course on the day," an RFS spokesperson said.
Any RFS members wishing to participate on the day should contact their local brigade captain.
