MONDAY morning and the hoped for rain seems to be gradually disappearing after looking very hopeful early this morning. The weekend was great, even became too hot to garden - so I wonder how we will tolerate another hot summer. Members and guests at the golf club on Sunday night enjoyed the chance to try some bush foods with lamb, goat, rabbit, possum, venison, kangaroo and crocodile all on the menu.

Some were quite adventurous with their choice of different meats but I was not one of them. Most seemed to enjoy their selections.
The three person Ambrose on Sunday afternoon attracted 5 teams and the winners were John Lee, Chris Glover and Helen Curtis. Because of an uneven number, Helen also played for the runners up, Peter Curtis and Tony Crossing.

The Duffys were the trophy donors for the event. Scheduled for next Sunday afternoon is a fund raiser for the tennis club (known in the past for the swimming pool and Discount prices on tennis day). Nine hole events will be played for club trophies.
Also in the past this was a very big day where everyone donated a trophy and everyone won a trophy. Things have not progressed over the years.
Players are reminded that the par threes competition is on again on Friday evening.

Bowls are also still on each Friday at 6 pm. Last Friday the winners were Adam McGeachie, Don Glover and Philip Walsh.
The evenings should be ideal for bowls with the warmer weather. If your bowls aren’t too good at least you can admire the sunset which was really beautiful last Friday. It would be wonderful if some new people lined up to learn the game.
Everyone is welcome on Fridays - that is where most of the regular players learned the game - so don’t use the excuse that you don’t know how to play - come and learn.

The Melbourne Cup Calcutta will take place on Sunday night. This is usually a great night out, especially for those who like to follow the ponies. Tickets will be available at the club at the weekend and also at the hotel and Bill’s shop (Cons).

John Lee was the birthday boy this week.
Three littlies were welcomed at the school last week for the first day of Kinder Orientation. This will continue for the next few weeks to prepare them for the start of “big school” next year.
Jugiong school kids and the pre schoolers met Healthy Harold last Tuesday. Healthy Harold was there to teach them about staying healthy and looking after their bodies.
The students will be posing for their photos on Thursday of this week. And a reminder that the next school assembly will be held next Monday.
Monday, November 10, will see the kids line up at the pool for intensive swimming classes which will continue for two weeks.
So - what do you bet that the weather will change again and the poor kids will be covered with goose bumps? It usually does.
The Hocus-Pocus walk-a-thon is on Friday. Hopefully someone will tell me what that is.
The staff at the school have decided to have a silent auction for their chooks with money raised to go to the Student Leadership Teams fund raising.
I am sure the students will miss having their family of chooks and selling the eggs. Those who wish to make a bid for them are asked to place their bid and the number wanted.
The successful bidder will be announced at the school assembly on Monday of week Five.
The after school communities have been having fun learning to throw and catch frisbees.
This Thursday is the National Sing Day with children Australia wide singing “Paint You a Song” Star winners last week were Beau Ferry, Dane Howard, Kaitlyn Daly and Jack Paterson.
Until next week.
