I believe there were a couple of birthday celebrations last weekend. I hope Lil Arabin had a great birthday and congratulations and best wishes to Hayley Pigram on her 21st. Hayley seems to have been grown up and working for so long.

Despite a great evening for bowls only six players turned up. The winners of the triples game were Ethel Lee, Chris Glover and Tommy Glover. Hopefully the numbers will soon improve.
The local team of Don Glover, Adam McGeachie, Jason Howard and Tommy Glover won the day at the Coota Country Club President’s Day on Sunday. Don then had the hide to win the raffle.
Pat Allan, Robyn Dyball and I competed in the ladies triples day also at Coota Ex Services Club. We won our game by one shot but were nowhere near the winners. We couldn’t win any of the raffles prizes either but it was a very enjoyable day.
Ethel, Robyn and I are off to Harden President’s Day on Tuesday - and no, we are never at home. Bowls beats housework any day.
I missed the Friday evening golf results but there were a few players still attempting to master the nine par three holes. On Sunday the men played for Peter Minson’s trophy and again John Lee was the winner.
Nine holes of golf again next Friday evening starting at 5.30pm. Bowlers are asked to have their names in by 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
On the program for the weekend are stableford events on Saturday for club trophies and on Sunday there is a three person Ambrose for the Royal Tara trophies. It is a good idea to check for any changes to the events and/or the starting times.

The school last week had a visit from superintendent Peter Dyce the Yass Zone controller of the RFS. Some of the discussion was about an effective plan for the management of “catastrophic” fire events. The school is required to have a separate emergency management plan as it is in a bushfire prone area. It is planned to have a revised plan for such an emergency.

The students all attended the netball and footy carnival at Boorowa last Friday.
Expected to arrive at the school soon is some new furniture and five new tablet computers. I am sure some of those kids could come and give me some lessons on the use of the tablets.
The Active After School communities started last week with the youngsters involved learning and improving their cricket knowledge and skills.
Maddie Duffy and Alivia Kruger have been congratulated on their 100 nights of home reading.
On Melbourne Cup Day, November 4, another Book Fair will be held at the school.
Music teacher Mrs Winterflood is hoping to start an afternoon choir on Thursdays after school. Parents are invited to attend also. The children have been learning a song so they can take part in National Sing Day on
October 30. Across the nation children will sing the song at the same time.
The star winners last week were Clyde Stevens, Hayley Daly, Emelia Martine and Maddie Duffy.
Until next time.
