The main fund raisers this year have been catering at the Gold Trail and the Show and holding an Old Time Dance in August. Street Stalls have also been held.
On Thursday, October 16, Fred Dimmick, pictured, a local Murrumburrah identity, will be walking from Murrumburrah to Young to raise funds further funds.
The walk will start at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Murrumburrah, and finish at St John’s Anglican Church, Young.
He is seeking sponsorship for his walk. People wishing to sponsor him can do so by taking their donation to the Anglican Op Centre in Albury Street (open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) or send a cheque payable to YDREC to PO Box 158, Harden, 2587 or give cash to him. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and receipts will be issued. Fred can be contacted on 0407 888 922.
He said he has been doing some walking to build up his endurance for the 31-kilometre walk.
