Mr Smith, who lives in Smith Street, said the problem occurs every two or three months and has been happening for years. When the sewerage pipe in his neighbour's property blocks up, the sewerage overflows from an inspection trap across his driveway and front yard.
He said he was fed up with having to complain to the council about the issue and wanted the council to fix the problem permanently.
"It is very detrimental to the health of everyone," he said.
In the past the when he has complained the council staff have cleaned up the mess but not fixed the problem.
"It is just a band aid fix with a plunger," he said.
He said he brought the property in 2003 and has had the problem ever since.
"I want it fixed it up properly so I don't have to drive out through someone else's raw sewerage.
He said he didn't believe his neighbours were putting inappropriate items down their toilet so the problem had to be in the actual connection to the sewer main.
Council's manager of technical services Mark Crisp said that council staff had attended to problem and cleared the blockage and that staff were monitoring the situation.
"The council has acted promptly when this happened and we are equally concerned about it," he said.
