Conditions were little better than last Saturday at Binalong. The ground not as slippery but a moderate westerly blew across the ground from west to east all afternoon.
Occasional squalls with sleet, however, made handling the ball difficult and Binalong had trouble completing their sets as a result.
The slow and wet conditions did not suit the Brahmans wide-sweeping ball play.
Boorowa’s improved defence was a standout in this game and they managed to keep the premiers scoreless for the first 20 minutes of the game. Brahmans “grinding game” came into play and they scored four tries in the last 15 minutes of the first half to bring up the 20/0 half time score.
Boorowa responded in the second half by restricting Binalong to just three converted tries to bring up the final score of 38/0.
Boorowa’s Murray Armour made a strong effort in this game and he got good support from his forwards.
The corresponding game in 2013 resulted in an 88/0 drubbing by Binalong at the Boorowa Rec. Ground.
Best for an injury plagued Brahmans were Shaun Davis, Scott Naughton, Jonno Butt and Mick Spencer, who played his first game since 2013.
