The March rain was just over half the total amount he received in 2013.
Mr Campbell said 2013 was and extremely difficult year because of the poor level of rain, no crops and depressed livestock prices.
He said when water was available he was able to irrigate, which was a major help.
"Last year we finished up with about 200 mm, which was very limited," he said.
"But we did get quite a lot of rain in March, so that certainly has helped."
Mr Campbell said he had received about 108 mm.
He said it was a blessing because it provided much-needed water to dams.
"I've never seen a country turn around as quickly as it did. We've got 10 dams on our property and they were all dry and then they were full. It was certainly a dramatic turnaround."
Mr Campbell said follow-up rain would be of great benefit.
"You don't need a lot of rain, you just need it at the right time."
"We could probably do with some sort of rainfall now, about 20 to 30 mm and then another similar hit in the middle of winter and then in spring," he said.
