Harden mayor Chris Manchester said yesterday that he attended a meeting in Cowra on Tuesday to discuss the issue.
He said the meeting had been held to brief the five councils that have been lobbying to have the line reopened on the latest developments. The five councils are: Harden, Cowra, Young, Weddin (Grenfell) and Blayney.
The meeting was also attended by five prospective tenderers.
Transport for NSW recently opened the tender for the restoration and operation of the line. The line was closed in 2009.
“Whether they progress to a full tender remains to be seen, but it is looking very positive,” he said.
