A MOBILE breast screen van arrived in Harden this week, the first one of these vans that has visited the town.
The van’s visit was organised by Mr Brian Dunn, chairman of the Local Health Advisory Committee, and the Harden Shire Council.
The van has been located at the Community Health Building in the hospital grounds.
Mr Dunn said the van would be there until tomorrow, Friday, August 3, and that there were still appointment times available. Bookings could be made by phoning 132050, he said.
The van has cost $1million to purchase and equip. The x-ray machine in the van is worth about $400,000.
The van will return in two years time.
In 2011/2012 the van screened some 20,000 women.
