HARDEN Shire, like a lot of other shires, has its share of residents who either have no where to sleep or simply do not have the money to keep themselves and their families warm in winter.
The Harden Murrumburrah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with the Catholic, Anglican and Uniting Churches, is to hold its Second Sleep Out Night on Friday, August 24, at the Trinity Centre, corner of East and Albury streets, Harden.
The Sleep Out last year raised almost $2000.
The night will provide all our local businesses with the opportunity to provide some financial assistance to a part of our Community that is struggling often through no fault of their own.
The Chamber of Commerce encourages all business owners, operators, managers and staff to participate in this fund raising event. Entry is $50 per person minimum with each person required to bring their own sleeping bags and other items.
The churches will provide an evening meal on Friday, August 24, and breakfast on Saturday, August 25.
All proceeds from the event go directly to the churches to be used to help those in the community who are less fortunate than others.
