Women's health night

MURRUMBIDGEE Medicare Local is presenting a women’s health night with Dr Sandra Cabot in August with all funds raised to go the Harden Branch of Can Assist.

President of the Harden Branch of Can Assist Monica O’Connor and Murrumbidgee Medicare Local primary healthcare nurse Kay Nash, who are organising the night, said they were encouraging all women in the district to attend this event.

Dr Cabot is the author of the Liver Cleansing Diet - best selling non-fiction book of the 90’s and still selling.

She is the medical and executive director of the Australian National Health Advisory Service. She graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide in South Australia in 1975.

Dr Cabot began her medical career in 1980 as a GP Obstetrician-Gynaecologist and practised in Sydney Australia. During the mid 1980s she spent six months working as a volunteer doctor at the Leyman hospital, which was the largest missionary hospital in Northern India.

The event will be held on August 23 at the Harden Country Club starting at 6.30pm.

Dr Cabot is donating her time for the event. Bookings for the night are essential.

Monica O’Connor said she was very pleased that Dr Cabot could come to town and said she encouraged women in the district to attend and to make group bookings.

“The more people who can come to it, the more it will help Can Assist,” she said.

Tickets are available at the Harden Pharmacy and the West End Gift Shop.
