Health Advisory committee member

COUNCILLOR Neil Reid is a valuable member of our Local Health Advisory Committee, always contributing significantly to our meetings and displaying a happy disposition.

Neil’s family home has been Jugiong for more than 50 years, where he is often referred to as the Mayor of Jugiong, and can be found at his outdoor office on the veranda of The Long Track Cafe on most days, meeting and greeting his constituents.

Industry and commerce, industry technology and tourism were the departments Neil worked in when he was a public servant in Canberra for more than 10 years and the knowledge gained in these positions, prove most advantageous when he is dealing with health matters.

He is very active member of Access, library, Team Harden, Jag Jugiong, Galong Progress Association and the Hand Tool Preservation Association, Melbourne.

Considering Neil has a personal disability and is not as mobile as he would like to be, all that he is involved in is a credit to him and our community.

When speaking with Neil one soon learns he is interested in conversation, auction sales, cards - especially euchre and poker - cryptic crosswords and he is a big supporter of the mighty Rabbitohs (some of us think he is misled in this area, only joking, Neil.)

Neil has completed his first term as a Harden Shire councillor and is seeking re-election at the 2012 elections being held on September 8.

We are indeed fortunate to have Neil as a productive and active member of our committee and we wish him well at election time.
