Service providers expo

DETAILS for the planned health, welfare and community service providers expo in Harden were discussed at the Kruger Medical Centre last Tuesday evening.

The expo is being organised by Service Providers 2587 (formerly Medicare Local).

The agenda was to fine tune all aspects of planning for the proposed Service Providers 2587 Expo, with the goal to give all Harden Shire residents and beyond the opportunity to find out at first hand exactly the services available to them in their area.

Rev. Don Jamieson said the opening prayer and chairman John Horton started proceedings by asking the secretary/treasurer, Trevor Drowley to read the minutes of the last meeting. It was a very productive meeting with all topics finalised and the 25 plus members in attendance agreeing with all aspects of the agenda.

Service Providers-2587 Expo, will be held from August 14 to August 16 at the Mechanics Institute Harden, between 10am and 2pm daily.

It is important that members contact Trevor ASAP with details regarding their requirements for the EXPO, allowing sufficient time for arrangements to be made. Catering arrangements for morning and afternoon teas are being canvassed with Carmel Brown and the Hospital Auxiliary ladies.

Once again the wonderful community spirit was in evidence and the team is fully supportive of the venture, each member contributing 100 per cent.

Mayor Chris Manchester was in attendance, offering the council’s support where ever appropriate.

It should be noted that without council’s involvement the expo would be almost impossible to produce and our thanks go to the mayor and council for all their help.

Service Providers 2587 will meet again this time at the Mechanics Institute on August 7 at 5.30pm, to finalise arrangements and we invite all involved in providing services to our citizens to attend - you will be made very welcome.
