FORMER Harden veterinarian Lloyd Varga has joined the Cooper Street Veterinary Hospital in Cootamundra and could be servicing the Harden area as well.
Mr Varga moved from Sydney to Young in 2011 and worked at the Harden Vet Hospital, which was operated by the Young Vet Clinic.
The Harden Vet Hospital recently closed and Mr Varga has now been engaged at Cooper Street.
Mr Varga studied veterinary science at the University of Sydney.
He said had always wanted to work with cattle and sheep as well as cats and dogs and exotic animals but that was something he could not do in a city practice.
He also particularly wanted to work with exotic animals, such as ferrets and rabbits, and snakes and lizards, as well as birds.
“It’s just something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, solving problems and working with animals,” he said.
“Practice owner Jim Della Vedova said he was very pleased to have Mr Varga join his veterinarian hospital.
He said it meant the hospital could now provide a better and less rushed service.
He also said Mr Varga could service the Harden area from Cootamundra and there was a possibility they could have a permanent presence in Harden down the track.
