Some 225 riders will be competing at dressage, cross country and show jumping over Saturday and Sunday. This is the most number of competitors the event has attracted in almost 30 years.
Five new dressage arenas have been set up and new show jump wings and poles have been ordered and painted by our hard working members.
The cross country course has been revamped and tidied up and looks very picturesque against the lovely green rolling hills surrounding the showground. Thanks to all our members and pony club helpers and friends, we couldn’t do it without your help.
Working bees have been held every weekend in the lead up to this event. Stables and yards will be full to capacity and accommodation is booked out in town.
A canteen will be running over the weekend with delicious food catered by our local Gun Club. Murrumburrah High School Farm Club members and helpers will be out on the cross country on Sunday to make sure riders jump over the right fences without penalty.
There are many local riders competing, which is good to see, and lots of up and coming juniors whom are trying to qualify for the Pony Club Championships to be held in October.
Come down to the grounds to support our locals Liv Howe riding King Thing, Nat Blundell riding Fang, Pluto and Metalic Cat, Alissa Brown riding Blu, Megan Perceval riding Barney Bear, Courtney Jones riding Rockfire Cardy and Honey and Kristy Brown riding Kudalari Majestic.
Rosettes, prize money and horse rugs donated by local businesses will be presented on Sunday afternoon.
Come down and say hello to Natalie who has just been ranked by the FEI International body as number one Australian rider for eventing and a 17th world ranking.
All local riders are very approachable happy to have a chat with spectators over the weekend. Gate entry is free so bring a folding chair and watch all the action.
