TEN young and enthusiastic swimmers from the Harden Swimming Club travelled to Cootamundra on the weekend for the first regional carnival of the season.
For little Ellie-Rose McCarthy (7), James Daley (6) and both Caleb (10) and Hannah Madden (8), this was their first ever competitive swimming event and each got a lot out of the experience.
All the team members swam very well and had an enjoyable time, competing against some much larger clubs from throughout the region and bringing home an astounding three medals.
Ryan Daley won two golds for coming first in the under 8s 50m Breaststroke and the 100m Freestyle, while Kai Mangan also brought home a bronze for his third place in the under 10s 50m Breaststroke.
There is sure to be a lot of improvement through the summer with the swimming club training Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and also Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7am until 8am.
Swimming Trials are held each Friday night from 6pm until 8pm and the swimmers will also be competing in regional carnivals and the up-and-coming Shine Shield.
Go Harden!
