The Harden Red Devils U 17s side came up against the fancied Young out fit at Cranfield Oval on Saturday. The match was a good wake up call for Harden after an easy win the week before against Cootamundra. Best on the Day was Scott Piesley who was well supported by Michael West in the forwards.

The work rate of these two players is something that the other boys need to set as a bench mark for themselves.
Scott and Michael both suffered head knocks and had the claret flowing throughout the game and it showed how determined they were to play hard for the whole match for their team.
In the backs Riley Manwaring and Josh Logue played their usual strong games as did Zac Allen. Nathan Solah had a blinder at the back with some very determined running from the kick returns.
The Forward pack let themselves down at the breakdown by either standing at the back, not cleaning out or picking and going when the chance arose.
It was a very lackluster display in that area except for a 5 minute patch where they made great metres recycling the ball. During this period they looked dangerous and it will be worked on this week at training to no end. This effort gave them attacking chances in their oppostions 22m line and resulted in tries.
On Saturday the boys did not communicate ‘talk’ at all which leaves attack and defense in a mess. This needs to be overcome along with a willingness to win the breakdown so that our backline can get more ball to score the tries.
Josh Logue had an unlucky day with the boot in the strong winds but tried all day.
Our first home game of the season will be this Saturday the 19th of May at 11:15 against Wagga City. We ask that any interested people come down and cheer our young Devils on.
There is plenty of talent in this side and they will put on a great show if they can play to the potential we now they have.
