Setting sights on a big year

Setting sights on a big year

04 Feb, 2010 07:28 AM
Harden Junior Rugby League held their first meeting for the 2010 season on Monday night at the Royal Hotel.

Registrations for the coming season will be taken on two sign on days, the first on Thursday February 25 at Roberts Park during touch football from 6pm. The second will be on Saturday March 6, between 9am and 12pm outside the post office.

Players who register on these days will receive their shorts and socks free with their registration fee.

Due to the fundraising efforts over the past years we are pleased to announce our fees will remain the same for the fourth consecutive season so the fee for this year will remain at $35 per player.

Coaches are also being called for in all grades from Under 7’s through to Under 15’s. Anyone interested in doing their referee or coach’s tickets, to assist the kids can do so in March, days have been set and more information can be found from a committee member.

This season is our major fundraiser year, with our usual prawn, chicken and auction night, which will be held at the Mechanics Institute on Saturday June 26.

We have been lucky to have obtained some much sought after memorabilia, so all augers well for another great night. With the junior league’s last night being a huge success, on the back of Paul Sironen’s appearance, they are looking forward to another great night. Any parent interested in helping during the season can contact president Michael Quinn on 6386 2394 or other committee members any time, your help will be greatly appreciated.

The next meeting for Junior Rugby League will be held at the Royal Hotel on Wednesday February 4 starting at 6.30pm. The committee are looking forward to another successful rugby league season in 2010.
