Zone 2, which is an area covering Harden, Young, Cootamundra, Bribbaree, Cowra, Boorowa, Grenfell, Canowindra and Gundagai, sent a team of six riders to the championships. The camaraderie among the group was strong, with everyone supporting their team members in each event.

Both girls were not only great ambassadors for their club and zone at state level, they both held their own in strong competition and reaped the rewards for many hours of hard work.

Courtney competed in the under 25 age group. Riding Meadowbrook Lisa Marie, Courtney competed against 39 other riders. Her best result over the weekend was 11th. Courtney has been a wonderful ambassador for Harden Pony Club and Zone 2 over many years of riding. This was her last Pony Club championships, and we thank her for her contribution to Pony Club as a rider and look forward to her continued association with the club as an instructor.

Alyssa competed on Clodhoppin Cowgirl in the Under 13 age group. In a very strong field of 68 riders, Alyssa’s best place over the weekend was 16th. This was an especially great result, as at only 10 years of age, Alyssa is competing against riders two years older than herself.

Harden Pony Club has many active members at the moment. The AGM is February 15 at 7.30pm at the Pony Club Clubhouse at the showground. The club caters for riders up to the age of 25, and of all abilities and interests. New members are always welcome.
