Wally number one Balmain supporter

14 Feb, 2008 05:54 AM
Wally Watts of Murrumburrah proudly displays his 50 years membership of the Balmain Tigers certificate, and his Centenary of Football medallion.

Wally Watts has had an affinity with the Balmain Tigers Rugby League Football Club for as long as he can remember.

He has fond memories of those early days as a kid walking through Callam Park to the hallowed turf of Leichhardt Oval to watch the mighty Tigers play. Although he preferred to play soccer Wally still remained a dedicated Tigers supporter.

Later when the Balmain Club acquired the old Latter Day Saints church in Nelson St Roselle as their clubhouse, Wally was on hand to help re-roof the old church with Balmain identities Noel Anson, Kevin Harmony and Billy Horne.

Previously the Club did not have a clubhouse to call home.
