Local bowlers continue their good form in the Cootamundra Ex Services Clubs maestro singles, with five of the six starters winning last week. Unfortunately Mike Oakes was the one to miss out in a close match.
Results were as follows:
Barney Heywood defeated Pat O’Brien (Coota Ex Serv) 31/19
Barney played well, cleared out early and although Pat tried Hard he never looked like running Barney down.
Paul Burns defeated Rob Gregory (Coota Ex Serv) 31/21
Paul returns this week to play club mate Barney after his terrific win over Rob. Always in front and had a comfortable win.
Tony Fisher defeated Noel Cummins (Coota Ex Serv) 31/19
Tony was in top form against Noel and is again one of the chances in the competition. Noel tried hard but found Tony too strong on the day.
Allen Tobin defeated Paul Douglas (Coota Ex Serv) 31/21
Another Harden bowler that has been in top form. Allen got away to a good lead early and Paul struggled to get near Allen who went on to win easily.
Brian Madden defeated Bill Robertson (Temora) 31/30
Big “Bruno” came back from the dead here. Billy, a top bowler from Temora had the big feller down 26/10 and looked home for all the money. Brian threw caution to the wind and started to hit his straps, coming home at a great rate to nail Bill, right on the line. A great game from both bowlers.
