In the 41 years of the Shine Shield inter-town swimming carnival there have been many long standing records set. When it comes to the records the Shine Shield carnival could probably be split into two categories, the pre- Georgie Campbell era and the era of the mighty Georgie.
During her time swimming with the Binalong swimming club, Georgie has broken many of the long standing Shine Shield records commencing with the 11-12 yo age group, when she beat every record including, the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m medley and the 100m freestyle. The 50m backstroke and the 100m medley records for this age group had until then been held by Harden swimmer, Alison James (Solah).
