Harden Murrumburrah sporting clubs have been lucky in recent months securing much needed grant funding for their clubs.
Recently being announced as worthy recipients of a 2010 Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community Grant was the Harden Soccer Club.
The soccer club was successful in receiving a total of $1500 to go towards new uniforms and training equipment such as witches hats and specially designed fold up training poles.
Encouraging children to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community Grants have already provided invaluable assistance to more than 4600 local community projects since the program’s inception in 2008.
In this round of grants thousands of applications were received from community groups across Australia with Harden Soccer Club being just one of 1500 successful in receiving a grant to support their grassroots initiatives.
Supermarket Operations for Woolworths general manager Ziggy Kwarcinski said they were thrilled by the response to the community grants program and the variety of groups that applied.
“Woolworths is proud to be able to support so many local groups who are doing important work to help Aussie kids understand the importance of active healthy lifestyles while also setting them up with skills for life,” Ziggy said.
“In the few years we have been running the Fresh Food KIDS Community grants program, we have already seen the tremendous impact that additional funding has one the operations of these vital community groups.”
Last month Harden Junior Rugby League Club were successful in receiving Volunteer Grant funding of $5000.
Also successful in that round of Volunteer Grant Funding was the Harden Junior Rugby Union Club who will use the money to purchase a new fridge and air conditioner.
