HARDEN Murrumburrah is gearing once again for another dramatic Harden Gold Trail Festival to be held at the Murrumburrah Show ground from 11am on Sunday, April 15.
The feature event of this third festival will be the re-enactment of a tale from the district’s rich local history, the Battle of Wallendbeen. There will be great horsemanship on display as local riders display their skills in the re-enactment.
The atmosphere will be lively, with two performances during the day from the Bush Dance Display group from Canberra. The dancers will wear period costume and music will be provided by a live folk band. Also in period costume will be two junior award winning buskers.
This year brings the return of the Cobb and Co coach which was such a splendid feature of the first Festival. Also making a welcome return is Vince Wren with his entertaining muzzle loading rifle demonstration.
A popular feature of the day will be gold panning. It should be fun for the young and the old, There will be plenty of games, food and a wide variety of stalls.
The cost of entry is $1 a child/concession, $2 an adult and $5 a family.
