HARDEN Murrumburrah honoured the achievements and contributions of local residents to the community on Australia Day.

Jadyn Nicholls was named Junior Citizen of the Year for his work with the Kite Festival, the Australia Day Breakfast and his work with the Gold Trail.

The Sporting Encouragement Award was shared by Tara McGrath-West and Sienna-Rose Bloor. Tara got the award for her outstanding success in showing miniature horses and Sienna-Rose was acknowledged for her contribution to sport in Wombat

Theresa Peet was named Senior Citizen of the Year for her work with Senior Citizens and the Red Cross and various organisations over many years.

The Community Involvement in Sport award went to Tony and Catherine Matchett for their work with rugby union.

Tony Brown received the Towncare Award for his diligence in the keeping the town tidy.

As reported last week, Owen Davision was named Citizen of the Year.
