The Harden-Murrumburrah Community Bank Branch’s 30/20 Campaign has ended with the branch set to donate $20,000 back to local community.
Harden-Murrumburrah Community Bank Company Chairman, Barb Sargent, said the 30/20 Campaign was launched in March this year and called upon the community to bank with the branch in an effort to increase its business volumes to $30 million.
“The community certainly have thrown its support behind our community’s bank branch” Barb said.
“The campaign provided our community with an extra incentive to transfer their banking business to the locally owned and operated branch, because the more people who bank with us, the more we can give back to community groups and organisations”.
“Now our community will receive a big thank you for their support in the form of $20,000,” she said.
The money comes from the branch’s Market Development Fund and will be awarded to selected community groups and projects in the coming weeks.
Mrs Sargent said this campaign highlights what a united community can achieve.
“We started this Community Bank branch to improve banking services and secure an alternative income stream so we can better support our local community.
“The number of Community Bank branches has doubled in the last four years and in the same time frame, customers have tripled their commitment of banking business to the community network, increasing it to more than $14.5 billion.
“In the last decade, in excess of $30 million in Community Bank branch profits has been returned to community projects and $10 million has been paid in dividends to more than 58,000 local shareholders.
“And behind those numbers are hundreds of stories of Community Bank branches making a real difference to the lives of local people,” she said.
